This is the cabinet EY who carried out the annual study on favorite brands of the French. For this 2025 edition, nearly 12,000 consumers gave their opinionas shared in an article from RTL. Et two food brands clearly stand out. Indeed, when it comes to food shopping, the French have their favorites.

According to the study, Picard and Leclerc are the stars of the shopping cart ! More than 30% of customers say they are fans of these brands, which allows them to respectively occupy the fourth and fifth place you’re global.

And for good reason: Picard continues to seduce with its practical and delicious side. Indeed, the cooked dishes are of high quality and the delicious recipes are ready in just a few minutes. Two major assets when you have a family to manage on a daily basis and weekday evenings are intense.

Leclerc, for his part, remains the essential champion of purchasing powerthanks to its low prices. Without forgetting its ever more attractive offering, geared towards bio, especially with its Bio Village Landmark Brand, but also the local and regional products.

Other surprise brands revealed in the ranking

But apart from the necessary food shopping, the French also like to treat themselves. And that’s where comes in Actionwhich proudly sits in first place in the overall ranking for the third year in a row. A feat for a brand that arrived in France a little over ten years ago.

There you can find decorative objects, beauty products, various accessories at low prices, and also some treats and sweets to snack on. And obviously, that’s enough to make half the country crack up. “Nearly 49% of Action customers declare themselves fanatics of the brand”reveals the EY study.

As the study points out: “Consumers’ attachment to Action can be explained by its policy of low price and its offer variety of products of everyday life.” Between the candy for €1scented candles and small gadgets, It’s hard to resist the temptation of the “very low price”.

Just behind, we find Leroy Merlin (40%) et Decathlon (36%), two brands which show that the French are fans of DIY and sports! At the sports brand, you can also go for a protein bar or a vitamin drink, because, yes, food sometimes hides where you least expect it.

Ultimately, this ranking shows a clear trend: in 2025, the French want consume smart and cheap, without forgetting to treat yourself from time to time.
