Pickle lovers will go crazy for this dill pickle dip recipe! It’s creamy, tangy, loaded with chopped dill pickles, fresh dill, and only take a few minutes to throw together. Serve it with potato chips, crackers, or veggies for a crowd-pleasing party dip!

Why You’ll Love Dill Pickle Dip

Dill pickles – If you love dill pickles as much as I do, you won’t be able to resist it’s briny, tangy, dill flavor paired with the creamy base of the dip.

Quick and easy – This is a stress and mess free dip. No special equipment or hard to find ingredients are needed to make it. You can whip it up in less than 10 minutes!

Creamy – Cold creamy dips are perfect for summer and this pickle dip is no exception! The base if made with a combination of cream cheese and Greek yogurt, which gives it an excellent consistency for dipping chips and veggies into.

Healthier dip – By using a combination of cream cheese and Greek yogurt we’re able to cut some of the fat and calories and boost the amount of protein in the dip.

Ingredient Notes

Cream cheese – Use room temperature block cream cheese for the best results. Both full fat and low fat cream cheese work. I don’t recommend using non-fat.

Greek yogurt – Tangy, creamy, full of protein, and a delicious way to get in a serving of dairy! It gives the dip a creamier consistency compared to just using cream cheese.

Dill pickles and pickle juice – Use your favorite brand of dill pickles. I used Irons pickles for this dip. You’ll also be using some of the pickle juice for flavor and to thin out the dip.

Worcestershire – Adding a little worcestershire sauce to the dip gives it a delicious savory umami flavor that pairs great with the briny pickles.

Garlic and onion powder – Garlic and onion in addition to the pickle juice give the dip incredible flavor.

Dill – This is DILL pickle dip, so it only makes sense to boost the dill flavor and add in fresh chopped dill weed.

Tips for Making Dill Pickle Dip

  • Use room temperature cream cheese. If it isn’t soft it won’t incorporate smoothly with the other ingredients and you’ll have lumps.
  • Use low fat or full fat dairy for the best flavor and creamiest consistency.
  • You can use spreadable cream cheese for the dip, but it may not turn out as thick.
  • If the dip seems too thick for your liking, thin it out with an extra tablespoon of pickle juice.
  • I like to use a crunchy pickle for the dip so that there’s some texture in it.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Greek yogurt can be replaced with and equal amount of sour cream.
  • Fresh dill, while highly recommended, can be substituted with 2 teaspoons dried dill.
  • Add a garnish. I used extra chopped pickles and dill, but for something crunchy try topping it with crispy garlic breadcrumbs. The same idea as making fried dill pickle dip.
  • Make it spicy. Use spicy dill pickles, add a pinch of cayenne, or add in 1-2 tablespoons of chopped pickled jalapeño
  • Make it healthier by using low fat cream cheese and non-fat Greek yogurt.

Serving Suggestions

  • Chips are a great way to enjoy this dip. Salty potato chips are my favorite. Use wavy potato chips because they’re sturdier and won’t break in the dip. You can also use tortilla chips.
  • Fresh vegetables are perfect for a healthier option. You can’t go wrong with carrot sticks, bell pepper strips, celery, or sugar snap peas.
  • Pretzels and crackers.
  • Use it as a dip for chicken tenders. Try it with my Greek chicken bites or everything bagel chicken tenders.
  • Dill pickle dip is also a great spread. Use it in place of mayo for an extra delicious sandwich spread!

Storage

Dill pickle dip will keep for up to 4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The consistency is best the first two days. It becomes thinner the longer it sits as the pickles leak out their juices.

I don’t recommend freezing this dip. The consistency won’t be the same and it will be separated after it defrosts.

  • In a mixing bowl combine the cream cheese, Greek yogurt, dill, worcestershire, garlic and onion powder, and pickle juice. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

  • Add in the chopped pickles and stir them in with a rubber spatula. Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper if needed.

  • Garnish with extra chopped pickles and dill. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with potato chips or veggies.

  • If you need this dip to be gluten-free and/or vegetarian, check the label on the Worcestershire sauce. Not all of them are.
