This Tuesday, February 4, the boss of Carrefour announced on his social networks the end of paper prospectuses. An ad that must be effective from March 31. Here’s what we know.
After E.Leclercit is the turn of another large distribution brand to tackle the question of “large surface” prospectus. In December 2022, Michel-Édouard Leclerc announced The end of the distribution of prospectus of his brand in the mailboxes of individuals. A stop that ended from September 2023.
At the beginning of February 2025, it is the turn of Carrefour to do the same. On LinkedIn, the Chairman and CEO of Carrefour, Alexandre Bompard, said that”From March 31we will no longer send prospectuses to our customers ”. An announcement that must delight 25% of French people on average who affixed the “Stop Pub” sticker on their mailbox.
Prospectuses available in stores
Since 2021, Carrefour had done the tests on some of its stores, before expanding the measure in Paris and Lyon in 2022. That same year, the brand had digitalized its catalogs on its site, its applicationby email and on WhatsApp.

But then, does this news really announce the final end of paper leaflets? Not quite. Like E.Leclerc, Carrefour customers will be able to Find them in self-service in the entrances to stores. It remains to be seen which other brand will follow the movement.
